Alex Rivas Mission Trip
My brothers and sisters in Christ,
At the age of 14, I went on my first mission trip to Iquitos Peru. It was during this time that I knew God had had called me to serve others – specifically the community of Latin and South America. This calling to serve on the mission field came years before I knew the Lord was calling me to medical school.
Currently, I am a first year medical student at TTUHSC School of Medicine. Medical school is beyond challenging, but I am learning to rely on God and serve Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1). This spring, March 14-22nd, I have the opportunity to serve in Santa Isabel, Ecuador on a Medical Mission trip. The Lord has placed this mission trip on my heart; not to “expand my travel” or have something “fun” on my resume, but to expand his kingdom. I was initially hesitant to apply to this mission trip, but I am confident that the Lord has already provided for my funds.
Furthermore, I have a friend (who is not a believer) that is attending this mission trip. Her name is Ayushi; I am assured that the Lord has called me to minister to her and serve as a vessel to introduce her to the Lord Jesus. Your support of this mission trip will not only help me, but you will be supporting the winning over of a soul for Christ.
